This year's central theme of the eighth international gastronomy fair in Lima, which will take place from 7th to 17th September is “distinct regional cookery”. A topic with which Apega, the Peruvian Society of Gastronomy, honor the rich and flavorful pantry of Peru. Mistura 2017, will lead us to reflect on the value of the work of small farmers, the commitment of Peruvian conservation of our biodiversity, malnutrition problems which we are faced with and the need to establish a style and eating habits based on the consumption of Peruvian products. With that special trip you will get to know the capital of Peru and the delicious typical food. In additon you will listen to the exciting conversations of the head chefs

 

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Very welcome to Peru! Reception and transfer to the hotel. At the hotel you have time to relax. Depending on the time of your arrival, we offer you the option to get to know the modern Lima, to meet the Kennedy Park and the pizza street. We enjoy the traditional "Pisco Sour" as a welcome drink. Our guide will give us some information about our stay.

Day 2: Lima - Mistura- talk of the head chefs

Today we have our first day on the International Fair of Lima “Mistura 2017”. To see the conversations of the head chefs "la costa verde, magdalena del mar" where we will be present at the opening to the public of the International Fair of Lima "Mistura 2016".

Meals included: Breakfast

  • Transfer to the fair
  • Talks of the head chefs
  • Coffe break. We also have time to visit the fair, the large market and all the attractions on offer.
  • Talks of the head chefs
  • Transfer to the hotel to rest.

Day 3: Lima - Mistura - talk of the head chefs 2

Transfer to Mistura. Second day to hear the talks of the head chefs.

Day 4: Lima - Mistura - talk of the head chefs 3

Transfer to Mistura. Second day to hear the talks of the head chefs.

Day 5: Lima fishing port - Visit the best restaurants in town

Today we wake upvery early in the moring, at three clock up to visit the famous fish market in Villa María del Triunfo. This is one of the leading main suppliers of fish and seafood in the capital of Peru.

We will find an incredible variety of fish and seafood with great quality. We have our breakfast at the market and see more restaurants offering the things of the market, following the motto "from the sea to the table ". During the morning we will explore some of Lima's best restaurants, visit the gastronomical capital of South America and also go to the winery Santiago Queirolo. There we will enjoy a wine and Pisco tasting.  We also make a cocktail course where we learn how to prepare the famous Pisco Sour, Chilcano and other delicious cocktails. Back to the hotel, free time in the evening.

  • Breakfast
  • Visit the Malabar restaurant owned by Amaz chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino.
  • Visit the restaurant Chef Network José del Castillo.
  • Cooking classe (ceviche).
  • Lunch.
  • Visit the National Anthropological Museum of Free People.
  • Tour Santiago Queirolo tavern.
  • Wine tasting
  • Cocktail classes (pisco sour, chilcano).
  • Transfer to the hotel to rest

Day 6: Lima - City tour

Today we visit the city. We visit a market in which we will learn about the diversity of Peruvian products. We go to a bookstore and buy cookery books and books of the history of Peru. Then we have the opportunity to get to know the colonial and modern Lima. First we visit the Plaza Mayor in the center and the Cathedral of Lima. We will also visit the "Casa de la Gastronomía Peruana" . At the lunch buffet you can try many Peruvian delicacies. In the afternoon you have the option to try typical dishes like “anticuchos” (small pieces of grilled skewered meat) or picarones (dessert) in Miraflores. After that we go back to the hotel. Free time in the evening.

  • Visit a bookstore.
  • Transfer to the hotel to rest.

Day 7: Lima - Home

Today you will take your flight home, we wish you a pleasant journey and hope that you will remember this adventure for a long time.
